I stupidly erased all the settings of my Uniden 396. Does anyone happen to
know the 'offset' and 'base frequency' for NSW GRN? I only remember the
spacing which is 12.5 KHz and I know that the base frequency is not the same
as the control channel (I have found all those for the areas I visit and I
remember that they were not the same as the 'base').

Thanks so much Jim. I managed to find them anyway but they were exactly as
you said, and it appears that the first is the one used in NSW GRN. (BTW the
second is the spacing (step as you said) and is in KHz, isn't it?)

Ah yes, you're right. Excel to Free Agent copy/paste/brain fade error.

Not sure about the use of each Zone though (hard to keep up with the
constant changes mind you).

I always have all 3 in there and use the Control Channel option.

Hi Jim

Thanks again. Currently I am trying to establish a *simple* procedure to
key in a single channel and listen at once. Seems you need a degree in
nuclear physics to do it! Suppose you're at a show and your neighbour
suddenly says 'Listen to 514.141 now!". Every scanner I've ever had it takes
few keypresses and you're on channel. Can't seem to do it with this beast...

Many thanks!
But just tried that with a channel I knew was occupied all the time. Not a
peep. If I entered Eyes, just got a message 'Quick Freq Save?

Still puzzled!
