hi All

I have a number of good desktop scanners and now want a handheld,
my choices are either a uhf transciever as in a kenwood etc or
dedicated scanner per an AOR AR8200MK3b, icom ICR3 or an Alinco
DJ-X2000T I would like very good hf performance including ssb.
(without cellular blocking)

Some opinions would be very appreciated:)

best wishes Peter.

Sorry I meant to mention the Icom ICR20 as a possibility
not the ICR3.

Hi Peter,

Like R1rob already mentioned, there is no good HF handheld scanner. I have
had some (a Icom R20 at the moment), and
i got the "best" HF performance from a Yupiteru MVT7100 handheld scanner.

I have no experience with the AR8200MK3B or the Alinco DJ-X2000T.

Greetings,
Another Peter !

I bought a couple of 400-480 KYD handhelds off fleabay that work very well.
You can get two or three for the price of a brand name radio.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts,
can anyone tell me some of the retailers for Yupiteru.
I have done some googling and can't get anywhere,
even the company in Japan seems to lack an English interface.

cheers Peter:)
