Do you mean within the UHF allocation? And in which case where are the
analogue and digital channels? I mean Taree etc. which I suppose is Upper
Hunter?

What frequency are you listening to? Taree as far as I'm aware is still
analogue on VHF and UHF.

Have you and JimK listened recently (last 4 days) on *UHF*, and on what
channel?

Sorry, Taree is Manning Great Lakes (I think),

heard them on VHF 78.3875 on Christmas Eve

Dont listen to them on UHF but they use to be on Channel 40 or 51 IIRC.

I wont be back on the Pacific for 3 weeks

LOst it now as I've accidentally lost all my settings -- GRN as well (see
other post!) but Lower Hunetr and Taree was in the clear until about a week
ago., and then a scan ofthe whole block reveallld no more clear UHF. Where
are you *now* hearing any on *UHF*? Not recently (as I was) but right now.

Thanks Mike Alpha. I never had any problems with VHF, as indicated. I'll try
those UHF channels again.

Just tried and have got 469.075 in the clear. I'm convinced it went off for
a few days

Thanks Mike Alpha and others for your help over the last few days HNY.

Did you hear APCO25 on UHF? Or was it silence. UHF is not the primary form
of comms in Taree so it may of been broken for a couple of days.

Even if they did go encrypted you'd still hear noise
if there was nothing then the system must have been down, maybe to
install the encryption units.............

Yes, of course you're right Kev. Rather than 'nothing' I did hear the
characteristic first millisecond speech then squeak and white (or in fact
light grey!) silence noise that you do get with encryption so the channel
was working but not in the clear. However, as stated it is now OK and has
been so for a bit.

That's what my mate in Maitland said too. There has been no loss or
encryption of any of the hunter north or south *UHF* channels.
