I wanted to make a little political rant about Dr Clement Macintyre
(aka Clem McIntyre on the news). I’m not sure which one it is because
I’ve only seen him on TV, but I want to give him a bit of a “pitch”
against Haydon Manning from Flinders University.
Clem can be found here: http://www.adelaide.edu.au/directory/clement.macintyre
Haydon can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haydon_Manning
Clem is the Head of School in History and Politics. You’d think to be
a “Head of School” requires you to be impartial and unbiased. Sure he
was educated at Cambridge University, but if you look through some of
his journals, published papers, commentaries, reviews, monographs,
chapters, you’ll begin to realize his partiality to the left of
politics.
This is starkly contrasted with Haydon Manning, the renowned political
scientist, who is actually called up on 5AA to do a talk.
I find Clement Macintyre too often trying to manipulate the political
landscape (for instance, look at his features on ABC News).
“Support for major parties is falling”, he says in one of his articles
(http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2007/s2057511.htm). In some ways, I
see him trying to create a self-fulfilling prophesy. Whereas if you
look at Professor Manning, he is far more impartial, and professional.
Another one for instance, is where he bags Liberals, Democrats and
Family First (http://www.abc.net.au/worldtoday/content/2006/
s1595920.htm). With the exception of Democrats which are dead anyway,
you can see pure prejudice where he gives the Liberals and Family
First (center right and right) a big whooping in media.
Here you can see polls are showing Liberals may win (http://
www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2009/12/17/2774712.htm), but obviously
because of self-interest, Professor Clem McIntyre has downplayed this,
attempting to pull another self-fulfilling psychology garb here.
Look here for some of what others have been saying. It’s obviously not
just me; he is very spun to the left side of politics, particularly
the Greens. Dare I say it, he may even be hired by the Greens Party
to launch an assault on the Adelaide University’s good reputation.
And God forbid, maybe even the Labor Party, on the basis that Mike
Rann’s own wife is an extremist left, Greens Party member. It’s been
particularly interesting Prof Clem Macintyre has made no comments in
the media spotlight about the Michelle Chantelois affair. Looks like a
cover up to try and win his party support in the political landscape?
To me, there’s a reason for my justified opinion that Haydon Manning
is on 5AA, while freak show Clem McIntyre is not.

Is it just me or is the University of Adelaide's PROF CLEM MCINTYRE a
bit biased in his opinions to media? It sounds like he seems to
prefer
the minor parties over the major ones, and his media opinions try to
alter public perception accordingly.
For instance, he says Democrats' future are to be determined at the
next election (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/
2006/05/11/1635728.htm), when CLEARLY they are already dead!
He also seems to comment in preference for Labor more than he does
liberal (http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200603/s1594961.htm).
He
basically ALWAYS predicts Labor at all upcoming elections (http://
www.abc.net.au/elections/sa/2006/news/stories/1594434.htm?elections/s...).
After all, what Greenie wouldn't?
He has been involved with various Environmentalism boards, and it
sounds like his commentary is biased towards them having an ever-
increasing vote (http://au.messages.yahoo.com/news/politics/308868/),
attempting to build a bit of hype over it.
Very interesting where the future of politics is going...

This is just my opinion, but Professor Clem McIntyre (http://
www.adelaide.edu.au/directory/clement.macintyre) is RIDICULOUSLY
biased to the Green Party (left side of politics) (http://
www.abc.net.au/pm/content/2003/s935237.htm)
I think
- the dude needs to get a proper hair cut
- stop thinking hes funny in politics lectures
- stop being biased towards the left
don't like him, he shouldn't be called a "researcher", he spins his
data!
