The significance is easy to grasp once you understand the essential
laziness of people who simply cannot be arsed to write 3 (three) letters
and choose to write instead a single number purported to represent the

My cousin, when he got his first computer, decided to send me an email
letting me know his new email address. He wrote the entire thing in the
Abbreviated SMS txt

took me about ten minutes to decipher the bloody thing
and I'm betting it took him longer to type than if he just used plain
English
