Been quite some time since I even attended an air show(Caboolture's
second air show) and never Amberley
any one have any freqs that might be of use to start with
I am looking at going on the Saturday

and what would be the best way to go
I'll be heading in from the Nth side of Brisbane
maybe out the Warrego to Walloon and in the back way to Amberley?
just to get around the traffic congestion of the Cunningham Hwy/Rosewood
Rd intersection and the road works at Yamanto

cool where does this bus leave from
might just do that
I expect the bus will have express exit as well back to Ipswich

Hi Kev,
Will need to check normally from Ipswich central, they did this last
time. If you had a ticket, you had a free bus ride.

As for freqs, I'm on 264.600 AM and for those who don't have the
military range, 118.300 AM. Too disabled and no car to get there this
year, but can see a lot from the back yard anyway!

Have fun

Thanks Kate for that UHF freq
I have 381.400
Heard the Roulettes using it once when they departed the Caboolture
airshow early after a bird strike

No worries Kev, ATIS is on 316.200 as well. Haven't seen the Roulettes
practicing, but did see a formation of four F-16s, missed their
callsign, but.

wasn't too bad once the turkeys got used to the idea of both sides of
the road heading the same way

Damn nice day for it
last minute purchase was an el-cheapo portable gazebo
what a life saver that was

118.300 and 126.200 on VHF were working fine
the UHF freqs also but since my only 2 radios that cover that band in AM
are out of action I missed a bit of action, I could hear TX on the UHF
freqs but my IC-Z1A only does FM so couldn't make anything out

The Roulettes were not using 133.900
I think I did hear them once some time ago on 119.something

I'll have to buy myself one of those close call unidens as the
Acceco3001 is not much use more than 50 metres from any TXer

traffic out on the Cunningham was ok till the end of the double lanes,
from there it was about 15 mins to park(at 7:00 am)
The Warrego through Walloon was a much better option especially on the
way out(more people trying to leave at the same time) with no hold ups
at all

But what great displays
forget having a look at the new C-17 unless you want to stand in a line
for 2 hours, and we left before the C-17 flight display, though they
said it might not even fly because of some technical fault

Sunday will be the last public display by the F111 before they are
decommissioned

The FA-18 flight displays are fantastic, the last one for the day was
typical madness
