G'day Kev, by the amount of new postings I'm getting here there can't be
many of us Optus users in the N/G's too many Indians ( Literally ) and not
enough Chiefs ( Real Technicians) at Optus, I've just had a run of wankers
on the phone from optus after we upgraded our package,

Same here - been with Optus for phone and net since 2000. Will be jumping
ship to Telstra and TPG as of January next year, support may be no different
but we've had continuing problems with the net since switching to the
'Fusion' plans 2 months back and support have bee less than helpful and have
still yet to resolve the problem.

I've been with Optus for around the same length of time as you and only
had two times where the service was out
the rest of the time it has never let me down
Pity about the Indian tech support call centre

It's not hard to do better than Optus and Telstra.

Umm not if you want a cable connection, they are all you get! All the
others are ADSL. I got Optarse cable, and while they are a bunch of
lying, thieving bastards, Telescum are a *worse* bunch of lying thieving
bastards.

Been there & done that Kate, I had BPA cable for a few years... although
at the time, it was the only broadband option available to me :)

Yeah, I'm sticking with Optusnet Cable. I have 5 computers running flat chat
networked over the one connection and we've only had the occasional issue
with mail and news servers. The average download speed is 9000kbps. The
modem died a few weeks ago (after 6 years) and they came and replaced it the
next day. I've got no probs with them.
